Marysville Ca., – The new Great West League Yuba City Baseball team will be putting on their first press conference Thursday at 11:30 am. The gates will open at 11:00 am at Colusa Casino Stadium. The Press conference will be held at the front entrance of the stadium and tent coverage will be provided. The event will be open to the public as there will be giveaways from the new team. “We are excited to start this new team and bring back some historic times to the community. It is important to our organization to make this area a strong united sports hub and what not a better way than Baseball,” said VP/GM Michael Mink. The team will announce their name and present the team’s new logos. The team will also reveal its 2017 uniforms and plans for the upcoming season.

VIPs will be coming in for the event Thursday, as Hall of Famer Phillies President Pat Gillick will headline the group which also includes: CSH Holdings Zoran Rajic, GWL Commissioner Ken Wilson, Yuba City Mayor Stan Cleveland Jr, Yuba City council members John Buckland, Preet Didbal and Shon Harris. Marysville Vice Mayor Dale Whitmore, Council Member Bill Simmons, Chief of Police Aaron Easton, Fire Chief Dale Vogelsang has confirmed for the City of Marysville. Special guest John Nicoletti, Hunter Hampton, George Laver, Brian Madison, John Cassidy,Jimmy Graben will also be in attendance on Thursday hosted by Mink.                                                                                       

The Yuba City Team 61-game slate includes a 31-game home schedule. An exhibition vs. the Gold Sox and Fan Fest will be held at Colusa Casino Stadium on May 28th at 5:05PM. The event is free for everyone and opportunity to see the Gold Sox and Yuba City take batting practice and compete in a shortened inter-squad exhibition followed by an autograph meet-and-greet session down on the field.

Yuba City will play a balanced GWL schedule, facing Chico, Lincoln, Medford, Portland, and Rival-Marysville 12 times each. The schedule will be released Thursday at the Press conference. Games that are played Monday-Saturday will begin at 7:05PM and Sunday Evening games will start at 6:05PM. “This is going to a wonderful summer to remember with 61 days of baseball and an opportunity to bring two great cities together with one common love. The Game of Baseball,” said Mink.
