Gold Sox and Bears Partner against Domestic Violence

04/10/2017 2:03 PM -

The Marysville Gold Sox and the Yuba City Bears are pleased to announce a partnership with Casa de Esperanza. Casa de Esperanza provides protection and education for victims of domestic violence, sexual assault, child abuse and human trafficking. The Gold Sox and Bears are excited to help in increasing awareness on these issues and providing support for victims.

“Casa de Esperanza is excited about spending our summers with the Gold Sox and Bears,” said Casa de Esperanza Executive Director Marsha Krouse-Taylor. “It is indeed a pleasure to work with sport heroes in taking a stand against domestic violence, sexual assault, child abuse and human trafficking.”

An average of 1,000 women and children find shelter and support at Casa de Esperanza each year. The Bears and Gold Sox look to increase awareness on these issues at all games and will host a special event night. The teams will also help Casa de Esperanza in asking fans to bring blankets and stuffed animals to all home games in exchange for free general admission tickets. These blankets and stuffed animals are very vital to these kids in aiding their recovery at Casa de Esperanza.

“This has been a personal goal for myself and to be able to help here locally now is a great blessing. Baseball is a great game that not only gives excitement to fans but can make a very positive impact in the community to help in various areas,” Gold Sox and Bears VP/GM Michael Mink said.
