Marysville Gold Sox Weekend Recap

MARYSVILLE, CALIFORNIA: It was Faith Night at Colusa Casino Stadium on Friday Night. Before the game, over two thousand fans were able to hear motivational words from Pastor Larry Koen. “Faith Night is important to our community and baseball,” says VP/GM Michael Mink, “Both the players and fans loved to hear Pastor Larry’s speech.”

The Marysville Gold Sox had a shaky start against the Yuba City Bears on Friday night. On day one of the two-day series, the Gold Sox were able to tie the game 1-1 in the second inning; however, were unable to keep up while the Bears continued to put runs on the board. The final score ended with the Gold Sox trailing 9-1.
On day two, however, the Gold Sox were able to channel their energy and score two runs within the first inning. The Bears were unable to catch up to the Gold Sox, and the game ended with a win for Marysville, 7-4. “This rivalry is what it’s all about,” says VP/GM Michael Mink “this comeback was great from our Gold Sox players.”
With the energy high from their win on Saturday, the Gold Sox were able to cool down the Chico Heat on Sunday. A home run from Caden Goldby sealed the deal, and the Gold Sox won 8-3.
The Gold Sox were able to keep their winning streak alive in Day Two of the series against Chico. After a scoreless twelve innings, the team was able to get one run on the board, winning 1-0.
This Saturday is our last Twin Cities Rivalry game against the Yuba City Bears. The Gold Sox are celebrating by hosting Feather Falls Fireworks for the night as well as having an exclusive giveaway for the first five hundred fans in the stadium.
