Bears and Gold Sox Fall

06/29/2017 11:23 AM -

MARYSVILLE, CALIFORNIA: The Yuba City Bears dropped game two of their three-game series against Portland by a score of 7-5 on Wednesday night. The Bears were made things interesting scoring four runs in the 8th inning to cut a six run deficit to two but ultimately were unable to prevail. Portland pitcher Josh Hendrickson picked up the win for the Pickles allowing just one hit over six innings. Josh Winkler led the way for Yuba City with 2 hits.

The Marysville Gold Sox didn’t fare any better on Wednesday night as they lost to the first-place Medford Rogues 14-7. The Gold Sox jumped out to a 4-1 lead in the top of the 2nd inning but the Rogues answered with four runs in the bottom half of the 2nd inning. Marysville recaptured the lead 6-5 in the 4th but it was all Rogues the rest of the night.

The Gold Sox will look to avoid a sweep in Medford on Thursday, while Yuba City wraps up their series with Portland with a decisive game three on Thursday Night at Colusa Casino Stadium. First pitch is at 7:05 PM.
