MARYSVILLE, CALIFORNIA: The Yuba-Sutter Gold Sox have just announced that all players will wear the initials “JK” on their hats in memory of the late, former season ticket holder and City Council Member, Jim Kitchen. “Mr. Kitchen was a great man in every sense and will be missed at our home games. During the first city council meeting I attended, he stood up, shook my hand, and said, ‘I’ll be there to support you and the Gold Sox, always,’” said VP/GM Michael Mink.
Jim Kitchen was a prominent figure in the Marysville community. His resume included being a Professor of Economics at Yuba College, the Operations Manager for Brown’s Gas Co., and a City Council Member. In addition, he was the President of not only the Yuba/Sutter Chamber of Commerce, but the Yuba College chapter of the American Federation of Teachers as well.
The flag at Colusa Casino Stadium will fly at half-mast in honor of Mr. Kitchen from now until his funeral (TBA). He passed away on Tuesday, October 31st, and he will be greatly missed by everyone in the community.

GOLD SOX IN THE COMMUNITY
The Gold Sox recently surprised young Blaze and Rex with various gifts. Blaze had lost his favorite signed Gold Sox baseball in a fire and Rex quickly donated his own signed ball. “It’s very heartwarming to see young kids going out of their way to help someone in need” said VP/GM Michael Mink.
