MARYSVILLE, CALIFORNIA: It’s time to get pumped up! The Yuba-Sutter Gold Sox have begun their player signing period for the 2018 season! Alex Zalasky is coming to the team as a Sophomore from Concordia University, Irvine. “We’ve got a great start to our recruitment this year; Alex is a great player and we’re excited to have him on the team,” says VP/GM Michael Mink.
The 6’3, 200 pound, Elk Grove native comes as a left-handed pitcher. Last year, he had an average of 54.2 innings pitched with a 5.43 ERA. We’re excited to have this efficient player join us next season.
At Concordia, Zalasky is currently majoring in Sports Management and in his free time, he likes to play basketball, play video games, and hang out with his friends. “I’m excited to play in front of all the great fans and hope to be the last team standing in the end,” said Zalasky.
The Gold Sox recently surprised young Blaze and Rex with various gifts. Blaze had lost his favorite signed Gold Sox baseball in a fire and Rex quickly donated his own signed ball. “It’s very heartwarming to see young kids going out of their way to help someone in need” said VP/GM Michael Mink.
