MARYSVILLE, CALIFORNIA: The Gold Sox pitching staff continues to strengthen as the 2018 season starts to crawl closer. The latest signee, Angel Mora, comes to the team from the Academy of Art University. “We’re excited to have a powerful arm like Angel coming to the team,” said VP/GM Michael Mink.
The 6’2, 205 pound junior comes to the team as a right-handed pitcher, first baseman, and third baseman. He attended West Torrance High School where he lettered 4 times and in his senior year, he was named Second Team All-State.
At El Camino College, Mora helped the Warriors complete a 40-11 record in the 2016 season, leading them to the finals of the California Community College Athletic Association Baseball State Championship (CCCAA). During this season, he hit .309 with 9 doubles and 28 RBIs, earning him a spot on the Second Team All SCC Conference.
Mora has been playing baseball since he was 5 years old and his favorite sports hero is Alex Rodriguez. “I’m ready to get this season on the road, I’m ready to compete and show the fans what I’m made of,” said Mora.
